Business Hours

Carlile's normal operations business hours are Monday - Saturday, 8:00am to 6:00pm. The term business hours and business day do not include Sunday and Holidays.

Collect on Delivery (COD) Shipments

2.5% of COD Amount, Minimum Charge of $26.00

Cross Border Processing Fee

$12.00 per shipment to all cross-border shipments between United States and Canada for security enhancements, border delays, inspections, and technology improvements to ship cross-border (i.e. CSA, C-TPAT, FAST, etc.)

Customs or In Bond Freight

$140.00 per shipment for shipments moving under US Customs Bond for customs clearance.

Declared Value, Excess Coverage

Excess coverage may be purchased at $1.00 per each $100.00, minimum $39.00 per shipment. Shipper must note "Excess Declared Value" and the dollar amount on the bill of lading.

Deconsolidation or Transloading

$1.23 per cwt, $140.00 minimum or $73.00 per hour forklift and operator, 2 hour minimum.

Detention - Trailers, Flatbed or Van without Power Unit

24 hour free time, $65.00 perday thereafter, Foreign Trailer $85.00 per day thereafter.

Detention, Standby, or Hourly Rate - Tractor or Straight Truck

$31.25 per vehicle per 15 minutes after:
1 - 5,000 lbs             15 minutes free time
5,001 - 10,000 lbs     30 minutes free time
10,000 - 20,000 lbs   45 minutes free time
20,001+ lbs              60 minutes free time

Equipment Replacement Charges

Straps or Winches: $45.00 each
Chains or Binders: $55.00 each
Load Locks or Logistics Bars: $53.00 each
Tarps: $127.00 each

Extra Labor - Loading, Unloading

$75.00 per man per hour (1 hour minimum) during normal business hours
$95.00 per man per hour (2 hour minimum) after 6pm and Sunday
$125.00 per man per hour (2 hour minimum) on Holidays.

Forklift Service - Yard Lift

$55.00 per half hour, Minimum Charge is 1 hour.

Hazardous Materials and High Hazard Materials

$1.27 per cwt, $33.00 minimum, $127.00 maximum for typical Hazardous Materials - Flammable, Combustible, Corrosive, etc.

Add $191.00 per shipment for High Hazard Materials such as Explosives Class 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, Poison Gas, Dangerous When Wet Class 4.3, Organic Peroxide, Poison Inhalation Hazard, and Radioactive Yellow Label III Class 7.

Household Goods or Used Commodities

Carlile ships all HHG's, Personal Effects (including mechanic's tool boxes), and Used Commodities with a limit of liability not to exceed 10 cents per pound. Carlile suggests shipper contact their personal insurance company and obtain a "Moving in Transit" insurance rider.

Lift-gate Service

$2.50 per cwt, $20.00 minimum, $100.00 maximum

Limited Access Pickup or Delivery Locations

$2.50 per cwt, $25.00 minimum per shipment. $75.00 maximum per shipment Applies to shopping malls, mini-storage units, military bases, schools, churches and construction sites.

Notification Prior to Delivery

$11.00 per shipment if notification or appointment is required.

Pickup or Delivery Service, Non-Business Hours

Additional $95.00 per shipment on Sunday or non-business hours 2 hour minimum. $125.00 per hour on Holidays, 2 hour minimum.

Prohibited or Restricted Articles

The following property will not be accepted for shipment: Currency, Jewelry, Museum Exhibits or Antiques, Artwork, Postage Stamps, or other articles of extraordinary value or inherently fragile items.

Proof of Delivery

Itemized information as a prerequisite for payment will be subject to a charge of $11.00 for each document or copy.

Reconsignment or Correction of Bill of Lading

$26.00 per occurrence, prior to loading from origin terminal. After loaded or dispatched from origin terminal add $3.50 cwt, minimum charge $35.00, maxiumu charge $250.00 per occurence.

Redelivery or Second Delivery

$4.00 per cwt, $37.00 minimum, $169.00 maximum, within local delivery area of delivery terminal.

Residential Pickup or Delivery (No Inside Deliveries)

$70.00 per shipment in city area, if performed during normal business hours
$90.00 per shipment to rural areas or highway drop

Uncrating & Removal of Debris

Uncrating - $50.00 per crate
Crate or depris removal/disposal - $200.00

Sorting and Segregating Service

$0.75 per package/piece, or $1.25 cwt, whichever is greater, minimum charge of $50.00

Stop-Off for Partial Loading or Unloading

$75.00 per each stop

Storage

$1.80 per cwt, $21.00 minimum per day after 48 hours

UPS, Fedex, DHL, other Small Package Carrier Charge (Tacoma to Alaska)

$10.00 per shipment

Used Commodities

Unless Excess Declared Value Coverage is requested, 10 cents per pound.

Weight Receipt, Certified

$11.00 per certified weight receipt per shipment and $5.00 per axle
