With the CVSA’s annual International Roadcheck right around the corner, Carlile Transportation recently hosted a hands-on Safety Roadside Blitz at our Anchorage Terminal to help drivers get inspection-ready and stay ahead of this year’s focus areas.
The 2025 Roadcheck, happening May 13 to 15, will place special attention on Hours-of-Service (HOS) compliance and tire maintenance. To help our teams prepare, Carlile created a real-world inspection environment where drivers could walk through each step of the process with guidance from experienced mentors and trainers.
Training that Builds Confidence
During the blitz, newer drivers worked directly with Carlile’s driver mentors and safety team to learn what to expect during a Level I inspection. From reviewing Records of Duty Status (RODS) to performing full vehicle walkarounds, the focus was on giving drivers practical, hands-on training in a supportive environment.
“Training shouldn’t stop after onboarding,” said a member of Carlile’s safety team. “This was a chance for us to support ongoing learning, make sure everyone is confident in what’s expected, and fix any small issues before inspection day.”
Why It Matters
The CVSA Roadcheck is one of the largest commercial vehicle inspection events of the year. Inspectors will be checking everything from driver credentials to brakes, tires, and cargo securement. By holding our own safety blitz in advance, Carlile is helping ensure drivers avoid violations, stay on the road, and deliver safely and efficiently.
